Artist's Statement

My most recent works of art have been inspired by the vastness and the beauty of the Painted Desert, as well as by the intensity and unpredictability of the surrounding natural elements. The extreme sunsets of the Western skies have left their impression on my mind's eye and traces of their color can be found in many of my paintings.

Bright as they may appear my expressions are tainted also by an internal darkness which is fed by the mounting evidence of global chaos. Though abstract in their creation my works portray coming planetary upheaval: cities burning and crashing to the sea, volcanoes waking from their long slumber and primal elemental forces in action.
